Dye Salon Blog-May

Autumn is here and so is the next blog post! Get comfy and take two minutes to read through all thats happening in here and the hood.

Salon

Much is happening in salon behind the scenes and sees a very busy time heading into cooler months. Exciting product news, shoots and all things colour coming up!

Good bye to Evo....Hello Mr Smith

As many of you know, we LOVE Evo and everything it stands for; Aussie owned and made, recyclable and kind to the environment, sulphate free gentle to keratin and colour, its humour and the fact it does what it says its going to do for you. We have been finding it difficult and having a bit of a battle dealing with the people who look after the brand and so have made the decision to explore other avenues. This sees the end of us stocking Evo for the foreseeable future...(sniffle). But we are super excited to announce that we will be taking the amazing range, Mr Smith, onboard! It will be launched in salon this weekend, so for the Evo lovers out there, you have just shy of a week to grab your favourites! You can also email in and buy online and we can send them out to you if you cannot get in to grab them. Be quick there is a limited range and number of items left here at Dye. For those of you ready to embrace the change, it is here!

Mr Smith is also Aussie owned, made and manufactured using some of the finest Australian ingredients. The range is super luxe with a price tag that certainly isn't. The range starts at $35.00 and varies to $50.00. Not bad at all! The whole range is keratin and colour safe containing no sulphates, parabens or silicones and is vegan and animal friendly (not tested on any!). The products come boxed (making them awesome gift ideas) and in a hardy plastic, both of which are recyclable. The products pack a punch, they are highly concentrated meaning you need less than you think. And they do just what you need, we like them!

Head on in to the salon to come and see for yourself or pop online to www.mr-smith.com.au for more information.

Hood

The Clothes Library

Hood lookout this post sees us shine some extra light on the wonderful local business that is The Clothes Library. Founded by Sarah Freeman-Vagg and managed by Izabella Janos it has just moved from Darlinghurst Road before Macleay Street to Springfield Avenue just under the Quest hotel. Here you'll find these ladies 7 days a week from 10am to 7pm (and frequently after!), busy with all things clothing and accessory. As their name suggests this is a clothes library; no, not your usual stock-standard second hand clothier but actually a really smart, innovative, environmentally friendly and fashion savvy business that allows you to borrow or purchase any of their vast catalogue of items. Pop into the shop for a chat and they will happily dress you for any occasion. They cater for all, with 3 storage units there will be something for everyone. Every item is for sale or you can join their membership and borrow items for either short term, mid or long term. Follow them on Facebook to be kept up to date with all things clothes (they have plans for an opening party soon and will be posting details up soon!) otherwise, find details either online at www.theclotheslibrary.com or pop in and see them at 15 Springfield Avenue.

In Salon

We love Goldwell colour and this month we are celebrating Goldwell's re-launch of Dual-senses intensive treatment serums. They are super charged, leave-in treatments that are each specialised in what they do as well as help protect fresh colour from fade. The benefits they carry last in the hair for 22 washes! There's 4 in salon (colour, blondes and highlights, just smooth and rich repair ) which will be tailored to what your hair could do with a boost of. They work instantly and are designed to be left in and soaked up by the hair, reducing the waiting around time and leave a weightless finish. Head in and have a chat to find which would be the best for you.Usually $15 to have in salon, blog readers are offered the chance to try these out when having a colour service in May and June for FREE. All you need to do is mention 'DUAL-SENSES' when booking.
